The SOS Hermann Gmeiner School was established in 1997. The school ranges from grades 1-6 and is run by a staff of 30 employees. The school has a total of some 250 students, around 30% of whom are for the SOS Children's Village.

Our school is distinguished by its science laboratory, computer workstations, in addition to the library that has various references and resources. The school is known for following up on the academic and social development of their students and providing special assistance to children with learning difficulties. The school works hard to join the children of the SOS Village with children from the greater Bethlehem community.

Our school offers both English and French from the first grade, in addition to the government mandated education requirements. We are the only private school that requests yearly evaluations of our teachers and teaching facilities from the Ministry of Education. There is a high demand from the local community to attend the SOS school.

There are 175 SOS schools spread across the world representing some 85,000 students.
