SOS Children’s Villages takes action for children as an independent non-governmental social development organization. SOS Children’s Villages Palestine is in process of prequalifying a roster of professionals in Gaza Strip and West Bank to implement a humanitarian intervention. The main objectives of the project are to provide life-saving access to basic needs through multi-sector humanitarian assistance, as well as protection children, youth and their care givers, and to provide integrated and holistic durable solutions to support family recovery, build resilience and self-reliance by enabling early and long-term recovery.

SOS Children’s Villages Palestine is searching for the below mentioned positions to implement the humanitarian intervention in West Bank and Gaza Strip.

Positions Titles:

  • 1 Project Manager in West Bank.
  • 1 Financial Coordinator in West Bank.
  • 2 Psychologists in West Bank.
  • 3 Psychologists in Gaza Strip.
  • 2 Social Workers in West Bank.
  • 3 Social Workers in Gaza Strip
  • 1 Security/Emergency Coordinator in West Bank.
  • 1 Security/Emergency Coordinator in Gaza Strip.
  • 1 Procurement and Logistics Officer in Gaza Strip.

Status: Full Time Limited Contract.

Contract Type: Limited Contract subject to SOS Palestine priorities and fund availability.

Project Manager in West Bank.

Position Summary:

The Project Manager is responsible to perform all the project management services for the project “Enhancing vulnerable individuals and families’ access to essential needs and lifesaving basic services in oPt”. The project manager will be responsible to Plan and design the project and proactively monitor its progress, resolving issues and initiating appropriate corrective action. The project manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the project implementation and reporting to the National Programme Development Director (NPDD).

             Qualifications and Competencies for the position:

             Must Criteria:

  • At least 3 to 5 years’ experience in project cycle management and budget control;
  • At least bachelor degree in business administration, social work, education, human rights, or development studies; Master’s Degree is preferrable in Management, Business Administration, Project Management, Social Science, Social Development, Gender or any other related field.
  • Ability to manage data collection through multiple forms including but not limited to: surveys, focus groups discussions; and interviews with beneficiaries and stakeholders;
  • Work experience and trainings on psychosocial support services, remedial education, working with community-based organizations;
  • Ability to work on tight deadlines, be competent in using Microsoft Office applications;
  • Ability to combine field and office work;
  • Exceptional English and Arabic reporting and presentation skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a multicultural environment.

Financial Coordinator in West Bank.

Position Summary:

The Financial Coordinator supports the Finance & Controlling Director (FCD) in overseeing and controlling financial and administrative activities of a specific project. He or she assists in planning and budgeting and supports in implementation, monitors financial guidelines to ensure the project achieves set targets and goals effectively and efficiently. He or she is responsible for doing day to day accounting duties and financial reports preparation as requested by supervisors.

             Qualifications and Competencies for the position:

             Must Criteria:

  • BA Degree in the field of Finance and/or Accounting.
  • Working experience of 5 Years in Financial Management.
  • Experience in working as a financial coordinator.
  • Experience in working with internationally funded projects like: BMZ, GIZ or EU.
  • Very good knowledge of fund management and regulations.
  • Very good knowledge of English.

Psychologist in West Bank.

Position Summary:

The role of the psychologist is an essential part of the project that will secure individual and group psycho-social support for vulnerable children and families. The psychologist will be responsible for the psychological assessment of the target group, conducting individual and group counselling and MHPSS services. The psychologist reports directly to the Field Emergency Project Coordinator and works in close coordination with the project team. This position ensures quality empowerment for families that are directly affected by the humanitarian crisis within the West Bank. The Psychologist is required to have a deep knowledge of the context in the West Bank and the psychosocial and mental implications on vulnerable families and children.

             Qualifications and Competencies for the position:

             Must Criteria:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Counselling/ Psychology/Mental Health.
  • At least 3-5 years’ experience working directly with children and caregivers and applying a number of therapeutic approaches
  • Work experience in a case management system.
  • Ability to combine field and office work;
  • Experience in working with survivors of domestic violence (children and caregivers).

Psychologist in Gaza Strip.

Security/Emergency Coordinator in West Bank.

Position Summary:

The Security/Emergency Coordinator will be responsible of all security and emergency issues related to the project “Enhancing vulnerable individuals and families’ access to essential needs and lifesaving basic services in opt”, and works in close collaboration with the SOS Palestine designated team and supporting departments (finance, human resources, Family Strengthening Programme, and National Institutional Partnership Development (IPD). The position requires good written and spoken communication and writing skills and the ability to present ideas, building networks with local and international partners worked in Emergency Response Cluster in West Bank and guide efforts to improve security/emergency response partnerships and the programme capacity

             Qualifications and Competencies for the position:

             Must Criteria:

  • Bachelor Degree in Disaster Management, Humanitarian Emergencies or other related field
  • Minimum five years (5) experience in humanitarian aid context and/or work in the area of disaster management with focus on conflict sensitivity, post-conflict development and migratory crisis.
  • 3-5 years’ extensive experience in planning, securing and managing funds from institutional donors as well as a thorough understanding of emergency programming.
  • Minimum three (3) years’ experience relevant to networking and PCM including project planning, budgeting, monitoring and reporting.
  • High level of computer literacy (including word processing, presentations, spreadsheet and project management applications).
  • Demonstrate evidence of medium/large proposals developed.
  • Understanding of program design.

Security/Emergency Coordinator in Gaza Strip.

Position Summary:

Procurement and Logistics Officer in Gaza Strip.

Position Summary:

The procurement and logistics officer supports the project different functions in facilitating the acquisition of services and goods. The role of the Procurement & Logistics Officer varies according the locations and fields work, he/ she will implement the finance & procurement guidelines within the project and will be responsible over value for money and the prompt provision of requested services/goods.

Qualifications and Competencies for the position:

             Must Criteria:

  • BA Degree in the field of Business Administration, IT, Procurement or operations.
  • Working experience of 5 Years in Financial Management.
  • Experience in working as a financial coordinator.
  • Experience in working with internationally funded projects like: BMZ, GIZ or EU.
  • Very good knowledge of fund management and regulations.
  • Very good knowledge of English.
  • high organizational skills.

Child Safeguarding (CS)

  • Responsible within own area of work to raise awareness of the SOS Child Protection Policy principles and to prevent and protect children from all forms of abuse, abandonment, exploitation, violence and discrimination
  • Responsible to report any CS suspicion, concern, allegation or incident immediately, following Child Safeguarding reporting procedures. CS reports should be made to the IOR CS focal person and/or to the respective line manager.
