Haneen Abu Znaid one of the Palestinian Children among SOS Children’s Villages Palestine joint the General Day of Discussion for the United Nations Committee on Children’s Rights. This was with the presence of the UN special Rapporteur on human rights in order to set recommendations and accountable governments regarding the violation of UN Children’s Rights Convention.

Haneen had been chosen to represent the Palestinian children in Geneva at the United Nations headquarter as a human rights defender. She pointed out to several issues that face Palestinian children such as suffering from the violations within the community and the importance of prevention to violations , as well as the importance of empowering Palestinian child rights defenders.

Haneen said: “The fact that we are here is proof of the love we received. I want to thank my SOS youth house and caregiver for the love they gave me” .
